The idea behind PrintedKits
Less print prep. More making.
PrintedKits is being built around a simple idea: sometimes
you want the parts, not another printing project.
Whether you’re assembling a model or bringing an open-source
hardware design to life, we want to help you get to the
hands-on part.
Our planned listings will make it clear what’s included,
what you’ll need to supply, and which instructions or
project documentation to follow.
Before you build
A few useful details.
Can I order a kit yet?
Not yet. This is our coming-soon page, and checkout is not
available. Products, pricing, and shipping information
will be added when the store launches.
Are the hardware kits complete machines?
The planned hardware kits focus on printed parts, not complete
machines. Each listing will identify its contents and any
additional fasteners, electronics, tools, or other components
needed for assembly.
Where will I find the open-source project files?
Each hardware kit listing will link to the original project
and identify the design revision and applicable license.
Credits and required notices will accompany the relevant kit.
Will the model kits need finishing?
Plan for a hands-on build. Depending on the kit, assembly may
involve removing parts from sprues, cleaning attachment points,
gluing, and painting. Each listing will describe the preparation,
tools, and supplies needed.
